The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the team reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
